Although there some may get them confused, there are many differences between a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and a Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Sure, they may look similar to someone who is not familiar with either dog breed but they are an entirely different dog breed with different body types, head shapes, coat lengths and more.

- Only come in varying shades of brown
- Have lighter nose and eye pigment that a chocolate Lab
As you can see, there are many differences between the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. When far away, it may be difficult to tell them apart. However, upon closer examination, or just by spending some time with each dog breed, you can easily tell them apart.
Both are very beautiful and loving breeds but are bred for different lifestyles.
